Low Code ≠ Low Effort

Low Code ≠ Low Effort

Low-code platforms promise speed, flexibility, and accessibility — and they deliver. But handing low-code tools to someone who isn’t process-minded is like handing power tools to someone who’s never used a tape measure.

These platforms make it easier to build workflows, but they don’t eliminate the need for:

  • Clear logic
  • Clean data
  • Sensible error handling
  • Thoughtful handoffs
  • Long-term maintainability

The problem isn’t the tool. The problem is what people try to build without understanding the why behind the process.

If someone can’t describe the business logic on paper, they shouldn’t be the one automating it in your CRM.

We’ve seen low-code automations:

  • Overwrite critical data because no one scoped ownership
  • Trigger infinite loops that cripple performance
  • Create conflicting workflows across departments
Replace human decision-making with rigid, fragile logic

Low-code gives non-developers the power to build. That doesn’t mean everyone should build.

Choose your builders wisely. Train them. Review their work. And most importantly:

Design the process before you automate it.
